Protein is one of the most important nutrient required for maintenance of our body. Most of our body parts like hairs, skin, nails, muscles, etc. are made up of protein. 

Protein also helps in recovery of muscles.

Proteins are made up of ammino acids. Most of the ammino acids are made by our body itself which are called non essential ammino acids. But there are nine ammino acids that our body can't produce they should be consumed from food are called essential ammino acids.
